Roof repairs and leaks traced properly
Slipped tiles, cracked flashings, storm damage, failed valleys and the leak that only shows up when the wind comes from one direction. Most roof repairs are small jobs that get expensive when they are left, so James would rather come out, tell you honestly whether it is a repair or a re-roof, and put it right on the same visit where he can.

Every roof repair, covered
Finding the actual leak
Water rarely comes in where the stain is. Flashings, valleys, ridge mortar, cracked verge pointing and blocked gutters all show up inside as the same damp patch. We work back from the stain to the entry point rather than sealing the first thing that looks suspect and hoping.
Slipped and broken tiles
Nail fatigue, storm lift and old torching all end the same way, with tiles in the garden. Replacements are matched to what is up there, refixed properly, and the courses either side are checked while we are on the roof rather than left for the next call out.
Valleys, ridges and verges
Lead or GRP valleys relined, ridge and hip tiles rebedded and pointed or dry fixed, verges repointed. Around Horley and Redhill this is where most pitched roof leaks actually start, and it is a day or two of work rather than a new roof.
An honest answer on repair against re-roof
If a roof is worth repairing we repair it. If it has had three patch jobs already and the battens are going, we will tell you that too, and you can decide with a written estimate for both in front of you. Nobody gets sold a new roof they did not need.
Asked and answered
How quickly can you come out to a leak?
Storm damage and active leaks get looked at as fast as the diary allows, usually within a day or two across Horley, Redhill, Reigate and Crawley. Ring the freephone number and tell us what you can see, and if you can, send a photo through WhatsApp before we come out.
Can you make it watertight now and fix it properly later?
Yes, and sometimes that is the right call. A temporary cover or sheeting over storm damage stops the water while the proper repair gets scheduled or the weather settles. We will always tell you which of the two you are paying for.
Is a small repair worth doing on an old roof?
Often yes. A roof at the end of its life still benefits from being watertight for another few winters while you plan and budget for the re-roof. What we will not do is sell you a patch on a roof that is going to fail again in a month.
Do you repair flat roofs as well?
We do. Splits, blown felt, failed upstands and ponding on flat roofs are all common, and in a lot of cases an overlay or a new rubber finish is the sensible answer rather than another patch. See the flat roofing page for what that involves.
Will my insurer cover storm damage?
It often does, and what your insurer normally wants is photographs and a written note of what has failed and why. We can provide a written estimate setting that out. Whether the claim is accepted is between you and the insurer, but the paperwork from our side will not be the reason it is refused.
